Important international shipping information
All prices are in USD.
All international orders are shipped via our international shipping partner (Passport). Passport is our trusted third-party international shipping partner. Passport has a number of shipping partners around the world that handle your local delivery and ensure your package arrives safely and quickly.
To create a better delivery experience for you, we offer the option for all international orders to ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). By shipping DDP, duties and taxes are collected directly at checkout so that your package is not stopped and held by customs. Please note that duties and taxes assessed by customs vary by country and product. You may elect not to pre-pay taxes and duties and instead to remit payment locally at which point the responsibility will be yours. Please note that if you elect not to pre-pay taxes and duties, shipping times may be longer and your package may be delayed in delivery prior to duty being paid. If you refuse to pay duty and your package is returned to Leaf Shave we will refund your order less shipping costs and less any duty or taxes incurred by Leaf Shave.
We want you to receive your order as fast as possible! International orders are typically delivered within 8 -14 business days once the order has been fulfilled. Once your order has been fulfilled, the estimated delivery date will be shown on your tracking page.
At any time, if you have a shipping related question you can reach out via your tracking page (‘Need Help’ button) or via email to our international shipping partner Passport at [email protected].
What countries do you ship to?
We ship to many countries globally, but not all countries. You can confirm if we ship to your country at checkout if your country is available as a selection.
If we do not currently ship to your country, and you find a way to purchase and get product to you, our return policy and warranty policy will not apply to your order. In order to receive warranty service you must have a shipping address in a market we service.
How long will it take for my order to arrive? (US)
We ship most orders the next business day after they are received. We may take up to 3 business days to ship out your order. During peak demand times (holidays) shipping may take longer, thank you for your patience.
Once on the road, transit time depends on your choice of service selected. All times are estimates and not guarantees. Free Shipping takes on average 5-8 business days. Priority Shipping takes on average 2-5 business days.
How does Free shipping work (US)?
Simple. If you are shipping to a US state or territory, and your order nets out (before taxes and after discounts) greater than the minimum order value needed -- you will have a free shipping option available. You may pay-up to expedited options.
Can I cancel my order after purchase?
If you’d like to cancel your order after purchase, just send us an email at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to fulfill your request.
If your order has been packed and shipped, it can not be cancelled - you would then initiate a return authorization after receipt.
Can I exchange my finish for a different one?
Due to the hygienic nature of shaving razors, we do not offer exchanges for different finishes.
How does your 60-day return period work?
If, for any reason, you aren’t satisfied with your Razors, razor stand or blade disposer, we will refund 100% of your purchase price (less discounts) within 60 days of your purchase, together with any sales taxes you paid when purchasing from Leaf Shave (unless that product is not eligible for returns as noted on the product page).
You must return the products in order to receive this refund. Before you return your items, you will need to notify us of your intent to return any such items and you will receive an authorization with return instructions.
Please Note: You will be responsible for the cost of returning your Leaf Shave product to us, and your returned items must be received within 10 business days of return authorization approval.
How does your lifetime warranty work?
If anything goes wrong with your Leaf Shave razor that is the result of a manufacturing defect, reach out to us at [email protected] to assess the use of your razor's warranty.
You must be the original purchaser (with proof of purchase) or if it was a gift, must be able to verify the original order or purchaser information.
If the issue is covered under warranty, we will repair or replace the razor at our discretion. Additional details can be found on the Terms of Use page and that should be relied on as the most up to date information on our warranty policy.
02. Product (Razors)
What blades can I use?
Yes! All Leaf Shave razors and tools use the same blades, and they're also open to (most) standard safety razor blades. If you have double-edge blades you enjoy, you'd simply snap them in half to yield two single edges for loading into our tools (snap the DE razor in it's paper wrapper to protect your fingers). Or load our single edges straight out of the wrapper :).
Note that there are 2 items to refill in Leaf Dermaplaner. The blade, and the blade-guard. This is important as they work together as a unit when loaded up (the blade is inserted between the flaps of the guard which applies the safety scallops over the exposed edge). We suggest refilling both together when you refill your tool.
Difference between The Leaf and the single-edge razors?
The Leaf razor has room for three blades, and a pivoting head. It's adjustable, with a 6 inch handle and is often most preferred by head and body shavers.
Our single-edge razors (Twig and Thorn) have a fixed head, a 4 inch handle, and offer precision shaving especially in smaller areas. They are most enjoyed by face shavers, or those seeking single blade shaving options.
Difference between The Twig and The Thorn?
The Twig is the milder, gentler version of our single-blade razor. This is a great choice if you are: a) new to shaving with single-blade razors; or b) have generally sensitive skin, or lighter hair.
The Thorn is the more aggressive version of our single-blade razor. This is a great choice if you are: a) experienced with single-blade razors and know you like a more aggressive setup; or b) have generally darker coarser hair where the extra blade gap will come in handy.
Who can use Leaf Shave razors?
Anyone! Our razors are designed to work for every body, shaving anywhere from head to toe and in between. You don't need to be a shaving enthusiast and you don't need to care about sustainability.
Our head and body shavers gravitate towards our triple-blade razor; and our face shavers tend to gravitate towards our single-edge razors.
Where can I shave with your razors?
You can shave anywhere on your body with our razors.
How is The Leaf different from classic safety razors?
While Leaf Shave razors are compatible with standard classic safety razor blades, they are not classic safety razors.
The double-edge ("DE") classic safety razor blade came into popularity 120 years ago, as a design that was safer and easier to use than using an unguarded straight razor blade.
Today, shavers enjoy the additional comfort and safety of modern razors. Leaf Razor are designed to combine the best of both worlds.
+ From classic safety razors we borrow the all-metal designs, durable and plastic-free; and the use of safety razor blades which are high-quality, extremely inexpensive and widely available (for over a century now and counting).
+ From modern razors we borrow pivoting heads which are easier and safer to use as they automatically control blade angle; multiple-blade capacity for increased efficiency and comfort distributing pressure on your skin.
In essence, The Leaf razor is designed to shave like modern razors (faster, easier, safer) while using materials from classic razors (all-metal, plastic-free refills, recyclable blades).
How are The Twig / Thorn different from classic safety razors?
Our single-edge razors are closer in DNA to classic safety razors than our triple-blade Leaf Razor; however they still offer quite a different experience.
The head is half the size of a DE razor, which makes it easier to shave with and safer in tight and concave areas (there isn't a second edge hanging out the back).
We've completely re-thought the handle's weight distribution, backweighting it for extra control at the point of shave. These things are nimble and quick.
And finally, we've angled the blade and exposed the blade like a modern plastic-razor might be exposed. This results in more intuitive easier to understand shave angles and experience. You'll find that it's a quick learning curve before you're enjoying a lifetime of plastic-free single blade shaves.
Is Leaf a Male or Female shaving company?
Neither! We don't take a gendered approach to shaving, rather we focus on shave area. We're here for folks shaving anywhere, head to toe and in between. <3
What's best for sensitive skin?
The Leaf's triple blade design allows for adjustability to suit your hair and skin. A fully loaded Leaf Razor will be the closest shave, but if you have more sensitive skin you can remove the lowest (bottom) blade and this will dial things back to be gentler. Experiment to find what suits you best.
If you're shaving with our single-edge razors, The Twig is the milder version and best suited for sensitive skin.
How do I load or shave with my razor?
Check out our Getting Started pages for more information.
How many blades should I load into my Leaf razor?
You can load 1, 2 or 3 blades into The Leaf razor. You can load them in any of the positions, each position (bottom, middle, and top) are individually guarded and can work independantly.
How long do the blades last?
This varies person-to-person based on (among other things) your skin / hair, preferences, and how well you care for your blades.
Most people see between 5 and 8 shaves on a set of blades. Some folks go months, and others swap them every few shaves. Our suggestion is to push them as far as you can out of the gate to get a sense for how long they last for you, and swap them only when you feel they are dull and not shaving any longer. You may be surprised how long they last.
And finally, different blades will last different lengths of time for folks. So feel free to experiment with different blade brands. Reach out for suggestions if you don't know where to start.
Do Leaf Shave razors rust?
The razor itself won't rust (unless wildly abused or neglected). Think of the razor like the fixtures and faucets in your shower. They're finished for corrosion protection. Light care will go a long way for their longevity.
Shaving blades (of any variety, from safety razor blades to cartridge blades) will eventually start tarnishing. Water + Metal + Time = Rust, eventually. Keep your blades dry between uses for their longest life. And swap them if they need it. If a blade stains the razor body with rust, simply scrub the razor to remove it.
How do I care for my razor?
Check out our Getting Started page for care tips.
How do I recycle my blades?
We make it easy to recycle used safety razor blades. Our blade takeback program lets you send blades back to us for recycling through scrap metal streams. To do this, simply secure the tin, pack it up and send it to us at: Leaf Shave c/o RECYCLE, 48 Taugwonk Spur Road Unit 2, Stonington, CT 06378.
Our tin will hold a couple of hundred blades, so you won’t have to send them in to us too often. Additionally, we'll accept blades back in any durable tin, you could for example upcycle an old mints tin!
Alternatively, we recommend taking them to your local scrap metal operation or consulting local recycling guidelines to be sure you’re disposing of your used blades correctly.
For more information, visit our Recycling page.
What are the wax dots on my blades?
The small wax adhesive dots on the blades help keep the protective paper wrapper around the blades, and keep the edge of the blade from the paper itself to avoid dulling the blade before it gets in your hands and into your Leaf Shave razor. This is a standard among high-quality safety razor blade manufacturers, and is not something that we at Leaf Shave have control over.
If you find them annoying to deal with, we suggest taking the blade you're replacing (the used blade) and using that to quickly scrape off the wax on the fresh blades before loading them up.
Do I have to use your blades? Are the proprietary?
We’ve specifically designed our single-edge half blades for the highest quality shave possible.
However, most standard double-edge razor blades will work as well (some more obscure brands don't hold tolerances tight enough to consistently work with Leaf razors). Just snap them in half (while it's in its paper wrap!) before use with Leaf Shave razors (otherwise, you won’t be able to load them).
Why do your razors cost more than normal razors?
Our products are made to last and are backed by a lifetime warranty. Shaving with Leaf unlocks the very inexpensive (but high quality) use of safety razor blades which allows you to replace your blades at about one-tenth the cost of disposable plastic cartridges.
You will see a return on your investment quickly, saving on overpriced disposable blades. We do understand that the upfront cost can feel a bit expensive, so we offer the option to pay in manageable installments at checkout.
Can I fly with my Leaf Shave razor?
According to TSA razors are allowed *without* the blades in your carry on. Safety razor blades need to be out of carryons and in checked luggage or purchased at your destination.
PLEASE NOTE: As of 12/06/2022 we have seen increased reports of TSA agents confiscating safety razors even if they don't have blades loaded or with them. Ultimately, the decision on what to allow is left in the hands of the TSA agent at that time, so please excercise caution and travel with your Leaf Shave razors in your carry-on at your own risk.
03. Product (Dermaplaner)
Why do I need to replace the blade-guard?
For best results when at-home dermaplaning, use clean fresh tools. To ensure a high degree of good hygiene, one should frequently change the blade-guard along with the blade (we suggest every few uses, or as desired).
How frequently should I replace my blade / blade-guard?
We suggest using a new blade and blade-guard system ever few uses, or as desired if more frequently.
Who can use Leaf Dermaplaner?
Leaf Dermaplaner is for everyone, whether using it to remove dead skin cells, precisely shave eyebrows, or shave peach fuzz from your face.
How often should I at-home dermaplane?
Incorporating at-home dermaplaning into your exfoliation regimen once or twice a month can enhance your skincare performance. Observe your skin and how it responds to using Leaf Dermaplaner. If redness persists, consider reducing the frequency. It is important to avoid dermaplaning over areas experiencing acne, irritation, or open cuts.
Note: at-home dermaplaning will provide a lighter exfoliation than in-clinic dermaplaning procedures.
How do I load Leaf Dermaplaner?
We suggest watching the loading video a couple of times to ensure you understand how to load your blade and blade-guard. This can be found on the Getting Started page for Leaf Dermaplaner. We suggest reading this page and watching all videos on it thoroughly.
How is this different from shaving?
Shaving has an express purpose of shearing through hair to remove it. Dermaplaning, either in a professional environment or at-home, has typically a dual-purpose to both remove fine vellus hair (aka peach fuzz) AND exfoliate dead skin.
You can use an at-home dermaplaner with the goal to simply remove facial hair. You will also gently exfoliate as you do this.
Mechanically, the tools are approaching your skin differently. Dermaplaning happens at a 45 degree angle to your skin, whereas shaving blades approach at an angle less than 30 degrees. The wider angle of dermaplaning is where exfoliation happens, the blade is scraping dead skin cells away along with the hair opposed to shearing through hair only.
One can get a professional dermaplaning procedure in a clinic, at the hands of a licensed esthetician or a dermatologist. They will use a bare scalpel and exfoliate deeply.
Or, you can use an at-home tool like Leaf Dermaplaner. Our tool uses a blade as sharp as a scalpel, but it is inserted into a scalloped guard so that the full length of blade is never against your skin. This is how the tool become safe to use in your own hands, at home. As a result, you will get a lighter exfoliation while you wipe away peach fuzz.
Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
Nope! Your hair’s speed growth and thickness will not change after dermaplaning. You cannot change the physiology of your hair by removing it with a blade.
Can I dermaplane on dry skin?
For the best experience, we suggest applying a few drops of Shave Oil while you dermaplane to facilitate a smooth gliding motion of the blade across your face. Additionally, Shave Oil helps to hydrate your skin, which often requires moisture replenishment after dermaplaning.
Is Shave Oil safe for sensitive skin?
Yes! Leaf Shave Oil contains minimal ingredients that were selected for their moisturizing and calming benefits. We included jojoba oil, which mimics the skins natural sebum—an oily substance produced by the sebaceous glands in your skin composed of a mixture of fats, wax esters, and other lipids. Sebum plays a crucial role in regulating your skin's moisture, protecting it from dryness, the environment, and stress.
An excessive or imbalanced production of sebum can lead to oily skin or acne.
Our formula is noncomedogenic, meaning it will not clog pores or cause acne and other skin conditions.
However, it's important to note that individual reactions to products can vary, so it's advisable to patch test new products and consult with a dermatologist if you have specific concerns.
04. Company & Values
Leaf Shave & Sustainability / Environmental Action
We set out to create the best shaving experience possible, and it turned out that was also a more sustainable razor.
We’re all in on conscious consumption — plastic-free products, plastic-free shipping, a blade recycling program, and as a business, we put our finances to work offsetting our operation's carbon footprint (Certified Climate Neutral™ since 2019).
For our users, we help you ditch plastic in your shave. Reduce waste or eliminate it if you take advantage of recycling the steel blades.
We're not perfect and we'd never ask our users to be. We know that the globe can't buy our way out of the climate crisis, but we can each make individual decisions while not sacrificing the quality of experience we've come to expect.
Every Earth Month our team chooses a global non-profit doing work for the environment or Earth's ecology, and we make a financial donation to support that work. Most recently, we have provided support for the following organizations:
Pacific Whale Foundation (2023)
Pollinator Partnership (2022)
Coral Restoration Foundation (2021)
Adaptation Fund (2020)
